Afghanistan, 2002. At the age of 15, Zarmina fled a forced marriage and found refuge in Montreal. But to gain her freedom, she had to accept a promise: her future daughter would one day have to marry her cousin back in Kabul. Fifteen years later, this pact comes back to haunt her. Determined to protect her daughter, Zarmina refuses to let history repeat itself - even if it means changing everything.
